What To Expect

Worship Service

Our services are a time devoted to worshiping our God, Jesus Christ, through prayer, the teaching of His Word, music, giving, sharing the Lord’s Supper, and spending time with one another.

Typical Service
– We want you to be able to worship comfortably, so casual or semi-casual attire is fine with us.
– Worship services include congregational singing, prayer, and messages that teach God’s Word. The music is a mix of hymns and contemporary.

Offering
– The apostle, Paul, taught that God’s people are to give generously and cheerfully to the ministry of God’s Church (2 Cor. 9:7; 1 Tim. 5:17-19) (If you are a guest, please do not feel obligated to give. This is for those who consider The River their home.)

Communion
– We practice ‘open communion’ the second Sunday of every month. You do not need to be a member of The River Church to take communion, we ask only that participants be a follower of Christ.

Nursery (“Tug Boats”)
– Childcare is available for newborn infants through age 3 during the entire worship service.
– All volunteers have completed background checks to ensure your children’s safety.

Education Classes
– Classes are offered for Preschool through Grade 5 on Sunday mornings (Sept.-May) during the message portion of our 10 a.m. worship service at Meyer Middle School.
– Education for Middle and High School students is offered during our Wednesday evening Youth Group meetings (Sept.-May).  See the Youth Group tab for more information.
– All volunteers who work with children and youth have completed background checks to ensure your children’s safety.
– Education for Adults is offered in our Small Groups.  See the “Discipleship” tab and select “Small Groups” for more information.
